A foundation established by Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, the Etsu Nupe and chairman of the Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, has extended medical support to approximately 10,000 people. The initiative was inaugurated with the endorsement of prominent leaders and aims to address the critical healthcare needs of the community.<\/p>\n
Speaking at the launch, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Saad Abubakar, emphasized the timeliness of the program, noting that many Nigerians currently struggle to afford medical care. Sultan Abubakar praised the Etsu Nupe’s proactive efforts in investing in the health of his subjects. He highlighted the importance of collaboration to alleviate poverty and enhance public health, which are essential for achieving the long-term goals of the Etsu Yahaya Abubakar Foundation.<\/p>\n
Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago of Niger State, represented by the Commissioner for Environment, Alhaji Yakubu Kolo, also commended the initiative. He directed all state ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) to cooperate with the foundation to achieve its objectives. Governor Bago applauded Etsu Nupe\u2019s dedication to improving the welfare of the common people, aligning with the state government’s efforts to accelerate development.<\/p>\n
In his address, Etsu Nupe reaffirmed his commitment to societal improvement, stating that the initiative was designed to complement government efforts across various sectors. He mentioned that a medical team from the United States had been invited to treat 10,000 patients with various ailments in Nupe land.<\/p>\n
Jean Alfred, the leader of the visiting medical team from the USA, expressed their mission to combat poverty on the African continent through medical outreaches and other humanitarian services.
