Margret Oyibo Atayi, a Benue State native who had been missing since Friday, May 17, 2024, was found dead late Monday night.<\/p>\n
Margaret, an Idoma girl from Ugbokolo in the Okpokwu Local Government Area of Benue State, was last seen near the City College of Education on Abacha Road in Mararaba, near Abuja, around 3 PM on the day she went missing.<\/p>\n
The news of her death was shared by her sister, Stella Ameh, on the Idoma Darlings social media page. Stella expressed her gratitude to everyone who had dedicated their time and resources to searching for Margaret.<\/p>\n
As of the time of this report, the cause of Margaret’s death remains unknown. However, there is widespread speculation that her death may be related to ritual killings, a growing concern in Nigeria.<\/p>\n
This incident follows a similar tragedy earlier this month. Another young woman from Benue, Kadoon Louisa Iornumbe, was found dead with her body abandoned along Mpape Junction in Abuja on May 3, 2024.<\/p>\n
