The camp of Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has officially lodged a complaint against the British Broadcasting Commission (BBC) concerning a report that delved into the authenticity of President Bola Tinubu’s college certificate.<\/p>\n

The report in question, titled “Bola Tinubu diploma: No evidence Nigeria\u2019s president forged college record,” has ignited a fervent debate regarding its impartiality and fairness. The controversy centers around the authenticity of the certificate submitted by President Tinubu to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).<\/p>\n

The BBC report stated that there was no concrete evidence to support claims of forgery concerning Tinubu’s educational credentials. Nonetheless, Atiku’s camp vehemently argues that the report exhibited a bias in favor of President Tinubu.<\/p>\n

During an exclusive interview on Channels TV’s Politics, Atiku’s Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, unveiled the complaint and criticized the report’s credibility.<\/p>\n

“When they said a report by the BBC, I laughed at the level of pedestrianism. The three young people who wrote that report are not even in the employment of the BBC. They are just like a fact-checking team,” Shaibu pointed out.<\/p>\n

Shaibu went on to assert that one of the report’s authors, Olaronke Alo, had connections with President Tinubu, revealing, “As of 2019, he was a reporter and presenter at TVC, owned by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”<\/p>\n
