Nigerian singer Ayra Starr\u2019s reception of her LGBTQ fans at a recent event in Brazil has sparked controversy online.<\/p>\n
During her performance at the C6 Festival in S\u00e3o Paulo on Friday, LGBTQ fans were seen carrying placards with various inscriptions, including \u201cWe Are Your Sabigays\u201d and \u201cWe [love emoji] You Ayra.\u201d<\/p>\n
The LGBTQ fans\u2019 reference to themselves as \u201cSabigays\u201d is a homage to Ayra Starr\u2019s nickname, Sabi Girl.<\/p>\n
After the event, one of the LGBTQ fans with the X handle @miketrindade shared photos from his meeting with Ayra Starr with the caption, \u201cToday I met my Starrrrrr [crying, praying and love emoji] @ayrastarr.\u201d<\/p>\n
The post soon went viral, with fans, especially Nigerians, expressing mixed feelings.<\/p>\n
Ayra Starr also reposted it via her Instagram story.<\/p>\n
