This decision was reached during a meeting presided over by Governor Siminalayi Fubara at the State Government House in Port Harcourt, with Commissioner for Information and Communication Joseph Johnson announcing the development to journalists afterward.<\/p>\n<p>The project, aimed at improving infrastructure, will be financed using savings from the state&#8217;s internally generated revenue, with no plans for borrowing. Johnson emphasized the administration&#8217;s commitment to self-sufficiency in funding major initiatives.<\/p>\n<p>According to Johnson, the contractor has already mobilized 30% of the contract value to kick-start the project, which is scheduled for completion within 32 months.<\/p>\n<p>Describing the scope of the project, Johnson clarified that it involves the construction of the main Trans-Kalabari road, different from previous efforts focused on building bridges. The road will stretch from NSS Pathfinder, just beyond Mgbuodohia community, extending approximately 2km to Aker Base Road in Rumuolumeni.<\/p>\n<p>The route is planned to navigate through challenging terrains, including swamps behind Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, with additional bridges connecting various communities up to Tombia Town.
