The unsightly accumulation of waste not only diminishes the aesthetic appeal of the area but also attracts pests and vermin, creating unsanitary living conditions for inhabitants.

Efforts to combat illegal dumping must be intensified, with strict enforcement of existing regulations and increased public awareness campaigns. It is imperative for residents to recognize their role in preserving the cleanliness of their surroundings and refrain from engaging in irresponsible disposal practices.

The authorities must take decisive action to curb this menace and uphold Abuja’s status as a model city. Failure to address the issue promptly risks further degradation of the environment and undermines efforts to maintain Abuja’s image as a clean and orderly metropolis.

As Abuja continues to grapple with the challenge of illegal dumping, concerted efforts from both the government and the community are essential to mitigate the adverse effects and restore the city’s pristine environment.

By Gbenga Adeniyi In a concerning development within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) of Abuja, the city’s renowned cleanliness is under threat due to rampant illegal dumping in residential areas.
