The Nigerian Air Force has recently received its second and final Beechcraft King Air 360ER aircraft from aviation giant Textron.<\/p>\n
Scheduled to join its sister plane, delivered last year, the new aircraft will be deployed in intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, and transport missions following necessary system updates.<\/p>\n
In addition to these roles, both aircraft will participate in patrols over Nigeria’s maritime territories, alongside a comprehensive aerial surveillance group comprising ATR 42 aircraft, Cessna Citation CJ3s, a Diamond DA42, and two Super King Air planes.<\/p>\n
This acquisition forms part of Nigeria’s strategy to enhance its air capabilities with newer units, particularly after a Beechcraft King Air B350 crash that resulted in seven fatalities, as reported by Military Africa.<\/p>\n
The Beechcraft 360ER, a variant of Beechcraft’s Super King Air civil aircraft, boasts an upgraded cockpit featuring advanced avionics, digital pressurization, and autothrottle functions. Furthermore, the aircraft cabin offers a 10 percent lower altitude pressure for enhanced comfort.<\/p>\n
With a maximum range of 2,922 miles (4,702 kilometers) and a maximum speed of 350 miles (560 kilometers) per hour, the Beechcraft 360ER is a versatile platform suitable for various missions.<\/p>\n
