Residents of Abuja and its surrounding areas, particularly men, are gripped by panic and frenzy as stories of widespread male genital disappearances emerge. While countless examples have been reported, the evidence supporting these accusations has been poor at best, leading to an environment of paranoia and vigilante punishment.<\/p>\n

According to the Nigerian Police Force, there is an alarming increase in reports of missing genitals, with fresh cases emerging practically daily. In most cases, the accused are subjected to violent beatings because the public has turned to their own kind of jungle justice. Many people are perplexed by this predicament because victims frequently report the miraculous recovery of their missing body parts quickly after the alleged accidents.<\/p>\n

Because of the repeated frequency of these crimes, Abuja citizens live in continual worry of being victims themselves. A recent case in Gwagalada, documented by the Daily Trust, heightened these fears. Mohammed, the victim in this case, described how he was sitting outside his business, waiting for his brother’s return before closing for the day. Suddenly, two people on motorcycles approached him, one of whom extended a polite handshake. An overpowering sense of uneasiness swept over Mohammed as he returned the gesture. He recounted falling into a trance, with a strong shock shooting through his body and his private portion seemingly vanishing into thin air. The mystery couple vanished as quickly as they appeared.<\/p>\n

Mohammed was transported to the hospital in a state of panic and trauma. Surprisingly, he miraculously returned his lost genital two hours later. This unusual instance elicited strong comments from Nigerians, with many expressing alarm over the prevalent allegations and harsh punishments.<\/p>\n

John Usman voiced his apprehension, stating, “They need to stop this nonsense because anyone can accuse someone they don’t like of stealing a man’s organ, and the innocent party could end up being beaten mercilessly.”<\/p>\n

One anonymous commentator humorously suggested, “The people should go to Lagos and collect some of the men’s manhood; we heard they are using it to commit too much havoc.”<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, in most cases, individuals are wrongly accused of doing these odd acts and subjected to severe vengeance before their innocence is confirmed. One such documented case is that of Mr. James, who narrowly avoided being lynched in Gwagalada after being falsely accused of stealing another man’s genitalia.<\/p>\n

In response to these false claims, motorbike riders in Kogi state went on strike. They took action in response to numerous charges of snatching passengers’ manhoods, particularly when passengers were unable to pay their fares. Mallam Umar Muhammed, the Chairman of the motorcycle riders’ association, explained during an interview, “If they cannot produce clear evidence of the missing body part, then no one should lay a hand on anyone, let alone resort to violence.”<\/p>\n

The enigma surrounding these missing male genitals continues to perplex and frighten inhabitants of Abuja and its vicinity.
