The event, hosted by the Corporate Council on Africa, will be held at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, Texas.<\/p>\n<p>According to a statement released by Stanley Nkwocha, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications, the Vice President will join political and business leaders from Africa, the US, and beyond for a series of high-level dialogues, networking sessions, and plenaries.<\/p>\n<p>Among the African leaders expected to attend are Presidents Joseph Boakai of Liberia, Lazarus Chakwera of Malawi, Joao Louren\u00e7o of Angola, Mokgweetsi Masisi of Botswana, Jos\u00e9 Maria Neves of Cabo Verde, and Deputy Prime Minister Nthomeng Majara of Lesotho.<\/p>\n<p>Shettima&#8217;s agenda includes speaking at various sessions, including the Roundtable on African Infrastructure Investment and a plenary session on Navigating Africa\u2019s Energy Future. Additionally, he is scheduled to participate in a high-level panel on agribusiness, focusing on transitioning \u201cfrom food insecurity to thriving agribusinesses\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The Vice President will also chair a session promoting the \u2018Invest in Nigeria\u2019 initiative and engage in various meetings and activities on the sidelines of the summit.<\/p>\n<p>Shettima&#8217;s journey coincides with ongoing speculation about the whereabouts of President Bola Tinubu, who attended the World Economic Forum\u2019s Special Meeting on Global Collaboration, Growth, and Energy for Development in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, but has yet to return to Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>While there has been no official statement from the Presidency regarding President Tinubu&#8217;s whereabouts, credible sources have indicated that he may be in London on a private visit.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the speculation, a top official at the Presidential Villa assured the public that there is no cause for alarm, affirming that the President is expected to return to the country &#8220;this weekend&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>It is noteworthy that President Tinubu recently visited the Kingdom of the Netherlands on an official invitation, engaging in high-level discussions with Prime Minister Mark Rutte and participating in the Nigerian-Dutch Business and Investment Forum aimed at exploring collaboration opportunities, particularly in agriculture and water management for sustainable farming practices.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Vice-President Kashim Shettima has embarked on a journey from Abuja to Dallas, United States, to participate in the 2024 US-Africa Business Summit.
