However, the results of 64,624 applicants have been withheld due to various infractions.<\/p>\n<p>During a press conference held in Abuja on Monday, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, Registrar of JAMB, confirmed the release of the results. He mentioned that the withheld results would undergo further investigation by the board.<\/p>\n<p>The 2024 UTME commenced on Friday, April 19, 2024, and concluded on Monday, April 29, 2024. A total of 1,989,668 candidates registered for the examinations, which took place across 774 Computer Based Test Centres (CBT) in 118 locations.<\/p>\n<p>Out of the registered candidates, 1,904,109 participated in the examination, while 80,810 were absent. Oloyede outlined that the 64,624 results under scrutiny were for various reasons, including verification, procedural investigations, and suspected examination malpractice.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, Oloyede highlighted center-based probes involving 57,056 candidates across 18 centers in Edo, Akwa Ibom, Delta, and Kwara states. He commended the near-zero infractions witnessed during the 2024 UTME, attributing it to the board&#8217;s enhanced use of technology to curb malpractice.<\/p>\n<p>Although 25 sessions faced disruptions during the examination, comprising only 150 out of 9,156 total sessions, Oloyede emphasized the significant reduction in examination misconduct cases. He mentioned that only 78 cases of misconduct were recorded during the entire exercise.<\/p>\n<p>In terms of performance, 8,401 candidates scored 300 or higher, accounting for 0.5%, while 77,070 candidates achieved scores of 250 or higher, representing 4.2% of the total candidates. Additionally, 439,974 candidates scored 200 or above, while 1,402,470 candidates scored below 200.<\/p>\n<p>To access their results, candidates were instructed to text the word &#8220;UTMERESULT&#8221; to either 55019 or 66019 using the phone numbers they registered with.
