However, on March 22nd, Anjarwalla managed to escape from a guest house in Abuja, Nigeria&#8217;s capital, where he and Gambaryan were being held by the authorities.<\/p>\n<p>Reportedly, Anjarwalla fled Nigeria using a passport from Kenya, where he is said to hold citizenship in addition to British nationality. Recent unconfirmed reports indicated that Kenyan authorities had arrested Anjarwalla. Umar, however, stated that Kenya was the last known location of the fugitive crypto executive.<\/p>\n<p>Interpol has been actively pursuing Anjarwalla&#8217;s whereabouts, contacting countries where he may have transited. Umar assured that they have obtained crucial information to prevent his escape from justice, emphasizing the organization&#8217;s commitment to ensuring his apprehension.<\/p>\n<p>Once a red notice is issued and circulated to concerned countries, Interpol intends to return Anjarwalla to Nigeria to face trial. Umar explained the legal and moral obligation for countries to cooperate in apprehending fugitives, highlighting the process for extradition.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Gambaryan remains in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) following his arraignment.
