Speaking during a meeting with families of Israeli soldiers, Netanyahu reaffirmed Israel’s commitment to achieving its objectives in the conflict. He stated, “The idea that we will stop the war before achieving all its objectives is out of the question. We have begun the evacuation of the population in Rafah. We will be there soon.”<\/p>\n
Rafah is home to approximately 1.4 million displaced Palestinians and remains the last area in the Gaza Strip that Israel has yet to enter.<\/p>\n
Netanyahu’s remarks come amid discussions of a new ceasefire proposal between Hamas and Israel. The proposal reportedly includes Israel’s willingness to discuss the restoration of sustainable calm in Gaza following the initial release of hostages on humanitarian grounds.<\/p>\n
