On April 29, 2024, the Nigerian music scene witnessed a dramatic clash between its biggest stars, Wizkid and Davido, unfolding on social media. The day marked a pivotal moment in the contemporary history of Nigerian music as the two icons exchanged barbs and insults online.<\/p>\n

The altercation began innocuously enough during an online session with fans initiated by Wizkid. However, it quickly took a contentious turn when Wizkid took aim at Davido, referring to Don Jazzy as merely an influencer and mocking Davido with a reference to a viral video showing him in tears.<\/p>\n

Davido responded later in the day with a subtle dig, suggesting that Wizkid’s music had been forgotten by the streets. This prompted a fierce rejoinder from Wizkid, who not only questioned Davido’s musical abilities but also resorted to personal attacks, including labeling one of Davido’s associates as a “pant washer.”<\/p>\n

In one particularly memorable moment, Wizkid responded to Davido with another reference to the viral video of him crying, suggesting that Davido’s career had been resurrected only to falter again. Davido hit back by questioning Wizkid’s stature, mocking his height and his choice of footwear.<\/p>\n

Their online altercation came as a shock to many, especially considering their seemingly cordial relationship just months prior. In December 2023, the two had been spotted partying together, with Davido even promoting Wizkid’s latest project.
