Bello purportedly remitted $760,910 in advance as tuition for five of his children enrolled in grades 2 to 8 at the school, allegedly from the funds of the Kogi state government.<\/p>\n<p>Dele Oyewale, spokesperson for the EFCC, disclosed that the amount has been refunded into the public account, following the anti-graft agency&#8217;s directive to the school to return the funds.<\/p>\n<p>Responding to a letter from the EFCC&#8217;s Lagos zonal commander, the school stated that $845,852 had been paid in tuition from September 7, 2021, to the present. AISA clarified that the refundable sum amounts to $760,910 after deducting the educational services already provided.<\/p>\n<p>In its letter, the school requested an official written request with the authentic banking details of the EFCC for the refund. It assured that no additional fees were anticipated for tuition, as the students&#8217; fees had been settled until their graduation from AISA.<\/p>\n<p>Yahaya Bello has faced persistent corruption allegations since leaving office on January 27. On April 17, EFCC operatives besieged his Abuja residence to arrest him over an alleged N80.2 billion fraud. However, Bello was reportedly whisked away by Usman Ododo, governor of Kogi, when the operatives arrived.
