{"id":29244,"date":"2024-04-29T07:14:42","date_gmt":"2024-04-29T07:14:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=29244"},"modified":"2024-04-29T07:14:42","modified_gmt":"2024-04-29T07:14:42","slug":"gandujes-probe-commission-holds-inaugural-sitting-monday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2024\/04\/29\/gandujes-probe-commission-holds-inaugural-sitting-monday\/","title":{"rendered":"Ganduje\u2019s probe:  Commission holds inaugural sitting Monday"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Determined to recover alleged stolen public assets by the immediate-past administration of Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the Judicial\u00a0 Commission of Inquiry set up by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf will hold its inaugural sitting on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>This was indicated by a Statement made available to journalists in Kano, on Sunday afternoon, by Governor Yusuf\u2019s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, who doubles as the Director-General, Media and Publicity, at Government House, Kano.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Statement: \u201cThe judicial commission of inquiry on public properties and assets established by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State to probe the previous administration led by former Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has scheduled its inaugural session for Monday, 29th April 2024.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-7\">\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div id=\"aswift_1_host\"><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cThe commission\u2019s secretary, Salisu Mustapha, said this in a letter addressed to the Director General Media and Publicity (Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa) on Saturday.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Statement further stated that: \u201cMustapha specified that the session will take place at High Court No. 3 within the Audu Bako Secretariat on Monday 29th April 2024 by\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/10.am\/\">10. am<\/a>\u00a0prompt.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bature added:\u00a0 \u201cEarlier this month, Governor Yusuf inaugurated two judicial commissions of inquiry (JCI) to investigate instances of misappropriation of public properties and assets, political violence, and missing persons between 2015 and 2023.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDuring the inauguration of the JCI members, Governor Yusuf pledged to hold accountable anyone found culpable, emphasizing his commitment to uncovering and prosecuting those responsible for political violence in the state before and during previous elections.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe governor urged the Commission to thoroughly investigate cases of misappropriated public properties and assets during the tenure of the immediate past administration.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-5\">\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-2\">\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div id=\"aswift_2_host\"><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cHe instructed the commission members to uphold their integrity, remain true to their oath, and serve the people of Kano State by ensuring justice is served.
