Residents of Kano and its environs seem to be in the dark about the recently launched Citizens Delivery Tracker, an application aimed at enabling Nigerians to monitor the developmental efforts of the Federal Government.<\/p>\n
Despite the potential benefits of the tracking app, a survey conducted by THEWILL in various parts of the state revealed that many residents are oblivious to its existence.<\/p>\n
Mohammed Salmanu, a retired civil servant, expressed surprise upon hearing about the app for the first time during the investigation. He emphasized the need for extensive publicity to ensure that Nigerians are aware of its launch and functionality.<\/p>\n
Similarly, Aminu Sabi\u2019u, a primary school teacher, acknowledged the potential of the app to inform citizens about government projects and programs but admitted to being unaware of its existence until the survey.<\/p>\n
Abubakar Zakari, a secondary school student, echoed similar sentiments, expressing interest in using the app to access information about the Federal Government’s Students\u2019 Loans Programme, which he hopes to utilize upon gaining admission to university.<\/p>\n
Even Suwaiba Sa\u2019idu, a bean cake seller from Yargaya town, Dawakin Kudu Local Government Area, expressed confusion about the purpose of the app, questioning if it was related to government cash transfer programs.<\/p>\n
The lack of awareness extended to various demographics, including 32-year-old cobbler Sammani Shitu, who requested more information about the app and expressed interest in using it to track government policies and programs.<\/p>\n
Overall, the survey highlights the crucial need for extensive awareness campaigns to ensure widespread adoption and utilization of the Citizens Delivery Tracker app among residents of Kano and beyond.<\/p>\n
