Former Kano State governor and National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, has taken legal action to stop his suspension from the party. Ganduje approached the Federal High Court in Kano, seeking an order to halt the suspension imposed on him by the executive members of the APC in his Ganduje Ward, Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area.<\/p>\n
Through an ex parte application invoking Section 46 of the Constitution of Nigeria, Ganduje requested the court’s intervention in the decisions made during an emergency meeting of the ward’s APC executives held on April 4, 2024. Presiding judge Justice A.M. Liman issued an interim order restraining the ward APC executives and eight others from enforcing any decisions reached during the said meeting.<\/p>\n
The court order, granted pending the hearing and determination of the substantive suit, prohibits the respondents from implementing actions based on the meeting’s decisions. The respondents named in the case include Haladu Gwanjo and other officials from the Ganduje Ward APC.<\/p>\n
Barristers Jazuli Mustapha and Hadiza Ahmed represented Ganduje during the court proceedings, presenting arguments supported by affidavits. The court directed all parties involved to maintain the status quo ante until the substantive application is resolved.
