The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has taken decisive action by suspending the licenses of three private jet operators for abusing their permits.<\/p>\n
The move comes after the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, ordered the cessation of permit for non-commercial flights (PNCF) in 2023, prohibiting the carriage of passengers, cargo, or mail for hire and reward.<\/p>\n
Despite the warning issued by the NCAA in March 2024 against engaging in such activities, some private jet operators continued to violate regulations.<\/p>\n
In a press statement signed by the acting director-general of the NCAA, Capt. Chris Najomo, it was disclosed that heightened surveillance revealed violations by three private operators, leading to the suspension of their PNCF.<\/p>\n
To further sanitize the general aviation sector, the NCAA has directed a re-evaluation of all PNCF holders to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements by April 19, 2024. Operators are mandated to submit relevant documents to the Authority within 72 hours.<\/p>\n
The statement also addressed existing Air Operator Certificate (AOC) holders who utilize aircraft listed on their PNCF for commercial charter operations, emphasizing that only aircraft listed in the Operation Specifications of the AOC are authorized for charter services.<\/p>\n
Najomo reiterated the importance of patronizing airlines with valid Air Operator Certificates issued by the NCAA for charter operations services, urging legitimate players in the aviation industry to promptly report any suspicious activities for necessary action.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
