The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has announced the suspension of licenses for three private jet owners, prohibiting them from operating in Nigerian airspace due to their engagement in commercial operations, contrary to NCAA regulations for private jet owners.<\/p>\n
In a video press release posted on the official NCAA X account on Tuesday, the acting Director-General of NCAA, Captain Chris Najomo, disclosed the suspension, citing violations of the annexure provision of their PNCF licenses and Part 9114 of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Regulations.<\/p>\n
This action follows an order issued by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority in March 2024, prohibiting private jet owners from using their aircraft for commercial purposes, with penalties for violations.<\/p>\n
In an effort to enhance monitoring and enforcement, NCAA has deployed officials to monitor activities at private jet terminals across Nigerian airports, resulting in the identification of three private jets that violated the regulations.<\/p>\n
Expressing the Federal Government’s zero-tolerance policy for regulatory violations, Captain Najomo emphasized the Authority’s decision to suspend the PNCF licenses of the three operators.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, the Acting Director-General of NCAA has directed a reevaluation of all holders of PNCF licenses in the country by April 19, 2024, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.<\/p>\n
In a recent interview session on “News Track” on Channels Television, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, reiterated the government’s determination to take decisive action against private jet owners who unlawfully engage in commercial activities with their aircraft.
