Former governor of Benue State, Senator Gabriel Suswam says the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has a single leadership, stressing that there are no factions in the party.<\/p>\n
The former governor\u2019s assertion is coming against the backdrop of insinuations that the main opposition party has been divided into two different camps.<\/p>\n
According to reports, the PDP presidential candidate in the last election, Atiku Abubakar and his loyalists are in one camp, while Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, and his supporters are in another camp.<\/p>\n
However, Suswam told journalists in Abuja at the weekend that Atiku remains the only leader of the party.<\/p>\n
He said, \u201cI don\u2019t think there are camps in PDP. We have just one PDP and all we are saying is that let us have a strong leadership.<\/p>\n
\u201cWike is the Minister of FCT and he is working with the president, I don\u2019t think he has a camp. Atiku remains the leader of our party.<\/p>\n
\u201cBy being the presidential candidate of PDP, Atiku is automatically the leader of the party who every member should look up to\u201d.<\/p>\n
