In a statement marking the first anniversary of the prolonged conflict in Sudan, IGAD&#8217;s Executive Secretary, Workneh Gebeyehu, emphasized the importance of halting hostilities and pursuing peaceful negotiations.<\/p>\n<p>Gebeyehu underscored the urgency of addressing Sudan&#8217;s dire humanitarian situation and widespread human suffering, urging stakeholders to collaborate with IGAD and its designated Special Envoy to achieve a nationwide cessation of hostilities.
