The feud between Nigerian musicians Burna Boy and Brymo continues to escalate, tracing back to September of the previous year when Brymo publicly criticized Burna Boy, branding him as “very fake” and “very unoriginal.” Brymo also accused Burna Boy of song theft, alleging that Burna Boy’s tracks “City Boys” and “I Told Them” sampled from Brymo’s upcoming album, “Macabre.”<\/p>\n

While Burna Boy has not directly addressed Brymo’s allegations, his recent freestyle lyrics hint at an awareness of the controversy. With lines like “Hustle hard make you no fall off like Brymo,” Burna Boy seems to allude to Brymo’s diminishing popularity.<\/p>\n

In response, Brymo retaliated on social media, labeling Burna Boy as a “foolish boy with talentless lyrics” and accusing him of envy and conceit.<\/p>\n

The feud took a new turn in April 2024 when skit maker Bae U hosted Brymo on his show ‘Curiosity Made Me Ask.’ In the interview, Brymo boldly declared his superiority over Grammy winner Burna Boy, asserting that Burna Boy’s name would never find a place in his songs. He further expressed his aversion to being signed under labels owned by Wizkid, Davido, or Burna Boy, stating that he would rather go to hell.<\/p>\n

Burna Boy swiftly responded to Brymo’s assertions on his Instagram story, suggesting that Brymo’s actions were merely attempts to provoke him. He quipped, “At this point, they do and say anything to get at the king. Werey dey sing Yoruba proverb music for us.
