{"id":26352,"date":"2024-04-08T09:39:42","date_gmt":"2024-04-08T09:39:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=26352"},"modified":"2024-04-08T09:39:42","modified_gmt":"2024-04-08T09:39:42","slug":"fct-police-raid-criminals-den-in-abuja-nab-85-suspects","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2024\/04\/08\/fct-police-raid-criminals-den-in-abuja-nab-85-suspects\/","title":{"rendered":"FCT Police Raid Criminals Den In Abuja, Nab 85 Suspects"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Operatives<\/span><span class=\"s2\">\u00a0of theFederal Capital Territory (FCT), Police Command, have raided suspected criminals hotspots in the nation\u2019s capital and arrested 85 suspected criminals<\/span><strong><span class=\"s2\">.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s2\">The raid which was done<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>between March 31-April 4, led to the destruction of criminal hideouts at Durumi and Dei-Dei axis of Abuja, serving as places of hibernation for hoodlums.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s2\">FCT Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, said the 85 suspects were arrested for various offenses, ranging from erecting illegal structures<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s2\">and shanties to the peddling of hard drugs and the manufacturing of counterfeit currencies.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s2\">Adeh, said a search warrant executed in some of the structures found several exhibits ranging from paper and coins counterfeit currencies both in local and foreign, light weapons, eight motorcycles, seven generators, gadgets, and several ATM cards suspected to have been stolen from their victims were recovered.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"related-article\">\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s2\">She said the suspects would be screened,while those found culpable will be profiled and arraigned in court, as the illegal wooden structures erected by the hoodlums were dismantled and set ablaze to deter criminals from turning these places to a brewing ground of menaces.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s2\">While investigation is still ongoing, the Commissioner of Police FCT, CP Benneth C.
