JAMB announced its decision after the institutions failed to respond to verification requests regarding the status of certificates issued during the 2023 DE registrations. The pre-verification exercise will be conducted through the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS), exclusively for candidates from the affected institutions, which include Ahmadu Bello University, University of Nigeria, and others.<\/p>\n
The move comes as JAMB uncovered 1,665 fake A\u2019level results during the 2023 Direct Entry registration, revealing widespread corruption in the system. JAMB Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, emphasized the need to safeguard the integrity of A\u2019level certificates, noting instances of fraud, such as only six out of 148 certificates forwarded to Bayero University, Kano, being genuine. To address this, JAMB has instituted measures like an A\u2019level result verification task force and a common platform for verification, with a “No Verification, No Admission” policy in place.
