He lamented that residents were forcefully evicted from their homes without prior notice, with houses demolished and household items destroyed.<\/p>\n<p>The communities allege that Governor Umo Eno, then Commissioner for Lands and Water Resources, made promises during negotiations but failed to fulfill them upon assuming office. Gabriel Anderson, a native of Use Offot, expressed dismay over the government&#8217;s actions, labeling it as impunity.<\/p>\n<p>In response to the allegations, Commissioner for Lands and Housing, Captain Iniobong Ekong (Rtd), denied knowledge of the situation.
