Faduri Oluwadare Joseph, a former presidential aspirant of the Labour Party (LP), has issued a bold challenge to the party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, urging him to either unite party members or step aside.<\/p>\n

The LP has been embroiled in a crisis with two factional groups led by Julius Abure and Apapa Lamidi respectively, vying for supremacy over the national chairmanship. Additionally, the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) has been laying claim to the LP.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Amidst this internal strife, Abure was controversially reelected during a national convention held in Anambra State.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
In a statement released on Friday, Faduri called on Obi to ensure the survival and strength of the party as a viable opposition in Nigeria.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Faduri emphasized the urgency of the situation, stating, “Enough is enough! Let\u2019s bury the hatchet and work together for the purpose of bringing good governance to our nation.”<\/p>\n

He further urged Obi to take decisive action, asserting, “If Mr. Peter Obi cannot bring the party together, he should leave.”<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Faduri called upon all Nigerians with genuine intentions to rally together and rescue the LP, stressing the party’s crucial role as the alternative opposition party in the country.<\/p>\n

Highlighting the LP’s potential, Faduri stated, “Labour Party is the only alternative party Nigerians are looking up to.”<\/p>\n
