Former President Muhammadu Buhari says he is \u201cfully committed\u201d to the success of the government led by President Bola Tinubu.<\/p>\n
In a statement on Friday, Garba Shehu, former presidential spokesperson, said Buhari had a telephone conversation with Tinubu during which he congratulated the president on his 72nd birthday.<\/p>\n
Shehu said the former president followed his public statement on Tinubu\u2019s birthday with a telephone conversation.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn the course of the conversation, the former president said he was fully committed to the success of the APC administration under President Tinubu,\u201d the statement reads.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn this regard, President Buhari prayed profusely for Tinubu\u2019s success, saying that praying for a leader is imperative as his success and well-being are for the nation (everyone), adding that the accomplishments of the new administration must be seen as national achievements.\u201d<\/p>\n
Earlier, Buhari, in a post on his official X page, commended Tinubu for his \u201cexcellent leadership\u201d.<\/p>\n
He also prayed for good health for the president.<\/p>\n
\u201cHappy 72nd Birthday to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu @officialABAT,\u201d Buhari wrote.<\/p>\n
\u201cI commend you for your excellent leadership, and the sustained efforts to overcome the many problems of the country.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy family and I pray to God that you remain healthy and happy and continue to work for the betterment of the country. Happy birthday to you, and many happy returns of the day!\u201d<\/p>\n
