The target is to eradicate the TB epidemic by 2030 by bolstering access to prevention, diagnosis, and treatment, sustainable financing, research, and ending stigma and discrimination against TB-affected individuals.<\/p>\n<p>Despite progress, tuberculosis remains one of the deadliest infectious diseases globally, with over 4,100 deaths and close to 28,000 new cases daily. The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated the situation, necessitating increased investment to sustain the fight against TB and uphold global commitments.<\/p>\n<p>Continuous sensitization and investment are deemed crucial to saving millions of lives and hastening the end of the TB epidemic. The state has expanded the number of facilities providing TB services to 78% coverage, with the aim of ensuring every facility in the state offers such services.<\/p>\n<p>Kaltume-Ahmed called on residents, public, and private organizations in Kaduna State to collaborate with the government in efforts to combat TB and save lives.
