Only workers in these nine MDAs who we can attest to will receive their salaries for the month of March 2024. The rest 22 that have refused to comply will not be paid.
“The government has paid all salaries up till February 2024.

“We have even paid all recognized 2,860 traditional rulers in the state for March 2024 as the government is very committed to salary payments.

“We have even begun to clear the backlog of gratuities. All pensioners have been paid their March 2024. The governor directs that they must always be paid first.
“We are very stern about the submission of the Nominal Rolls directive. Civil servants should hold their permanent secretaries responsible for non-payment of their salaries, not the state government.”

The Head of Service also cautioned strongly that dismissal awaits any officials that collect money for promotions of civil servants.

Eteng stressed that both the giver and the collector will suffer the same penalties.
He further emphasized that any promotions that do not meet laid down civil service rules and extant regulations would be rejected.

“I have stressed and warned against payment of money for promotions. Due processes available in the Civil Services regulations must be followed for deserving civil servants.

“Anything short of this will be rejected.
