{"id":24621,"date":"2024-03-25T12:15:39","date_gmt":"2024-03-25T12:15:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=24621"},"modified":"2024-03-25T12:15:39","modified_gmt":"2024-03-25T12:15:39","slug":"death-toll-rises-to-7-in-sunday-bauchi-stampede","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2024\/03\/25\/death-toll-rises-to-7-in-sunday-bauchi-stampede\/","title":{"rendered":"Death Toll Rises To 7 In Sunday Bauchi Stampede"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>No fewer than seven persons are now confirmed dead following the tragic stampede that occurred during an almsgiving programme that took place in Bauchi over the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Police authorities stated that while six of the victims were pronounced dead at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital in Bauchi, one other died at home.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-2\">\n<div id=\"v-leadership-ng-0\">\n<div id=\"_vdo_ads_player_ai_24656\" class=\"vdo_video_unit vdo_floating\">\n<p>Spokesman of the Bauchi State Police Command, Ahmed Wakilin disclosed this on Monday while giving an update on the incident.<\/p>\n<p>He gave the details of the deceased as Aisha Usman, \u2018f\u2019 aged 13yrs of Gwang Gwang Gwang; Sahura Abubakar \u2018f\u2019 aged 55yrs of Anguwan; Aisha Ibrahim Abubakar, \u2018f\u2019 aged 43yrs of Kobi Street and Khadija Isah, \u2018f\u2019 aged 8yrs of Karofi all from Bauchi.<\/p>\n<p>The others are 20-year-old Maryam Suleiman \u2018from Kandahar;<br \/>\nMaryam Shuibu, 16 years old from Gwang Gwan Gwan, and 53-year-old Hassana Saidu from Dutsen Tanshi, all the victims are females and from Bauchi.<\/p>\n<p>It will be recall that the incident occurred on Sunday at Shafa Holdings Company Plc along Jos Road in the Bauchi metropolis.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>No fewer than seven persons are now confirmed dead following the tragic stampede that occurred during an almsgiving programme that took place in Bauchi over the weekend.
