Addressing concerns about the ongoing recovery of alleged stolen government properties by the state House of Assembly, Eba emphasized the need to refrain from labeling the actions as witch-hunting. He highlighted that some of the recovered properties included heavy-duty tractors, a 100-bed hotel in Abuja sold under dubious circumstances, and the halting of private renovation of the Cross River Liaison House in Abuja.<\/p>\n
Eba reiterated the strong bond between Ayade and Otu, stating that the former governor’s support was instrumental in the latter’s ascent to power. He emphasized the mutual respect and understanding between the two leaders, asserting that neither internal nor external influences would disrupt their relationship.<\/p>\n
Regarding the terminology used to describe the recovery of properties, Eba expressed disapproval of the term “stolen,” emphasizing that the focus should be on the lawful retrieval of government assets rather than accusations of theft.
