The Federal Government has announced a strict six-month completion timeline for the dualization of the 30km Benin-Lokoja highway, a project that has received funding approval under the Tax Credit Scheme for the BUA Group.<\/p>\n
This decision comes in response to the pressing need to address the N775 billion funding gap that has stalled the completion of the road, initially awarded in 2012.<\/p>\n
During a meeting with contractors and stakeholders from the area, the Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi, emphasized the urgency of delivering the project within the stipulated timeframe. He disclosed that the project, funded under the NNPCL Tax Credit Scheme with a commitment of N122 billion, faces a significant funding gap of N775 billion.<\/p>\n
Umahi highlighted the ministry’s commitment to upholding the highest standards and durability in infrastructure projects, emphasizing the need for innovation and efficiency in execution.<\/p>\n
In a significant development, President Muhammadu Buhari has approved BUA Group’s involvement in the project, assigning them 30km of road construction in three locations, totaling 60km under the Tax Credit Scheme.<\/p>\n
The Group Executive Director of BUA Group, Kabiru Rabiu, affirmed the company’s dedication to meeting the ambitious six-month deadline. He announced plans to engage three contractors to commence work promptly and ensure timely completion.<\/p>\n
