During the official launch ceremony held in Abuja, General Christopher Musa, the Chief of Defence Staff, emphasized the importance of the SOP in guiding military personnel involved in the Safe School Initiative. He highlighted that the SOP would outline essential protocols aligned with both international and national laws to safeguard schools and protect students.<\/p>\n
General Musa stated, “The Armed Forces of Nigeria remain steadfast in their commitment to ensuring the security of schoolchildren and educational institutions in accordance with Nigeria’s constitution. Given the complex and volatile security landscape, enhanced synergy among military and other security agencies is imperative.”<\/p>\n
Emphasizing the collaborative effort required, the CDS called upon stakeholders to unite in safeguarding schoolchildren. He stressed the pivotal role of every stakeholder in fostering a secure environment conducive to learning, underscoring the collective responsibility to secure the nation’s future and protect its children.<\/p>\n
