This approach involves visiting mosques during the Ramadan period and donating items to them, marking a shift from his previous campaign tactics. In his unsuccessful bid for the presidency, Obi predominantly engaged with churches to garner support but faced challenges in securing votes from the North. Now, he is actively seeking to win over the Muslim community ahead of the 2027 presidential election, capitalizing on the prevailing hunger in the country to sway their allegiance.

Obi’s recent visit to the Barkin-Iku Suleja Niger State Central Mosque, situated along the Suleja – Kaduna road in Niger State, is part of his broader outreach strategy. Through this visit, he aimed to offer assistance to approximately 100 individuals, break the Ramadan fast with around 1000 worshippers, and share a meal with the Muslim community. Additionally, he addressed critical societal needs by installing a borehole to provide clean water. Sharing images of his mosque visit on his social media platform, Obi underscored the significance of fostering a spirit of togetherness and solidarity, regardless of religious affiliation.

During his engagement at the mosque, Obi had the opportunity to listen to a Tafsir by the Chief Imam, who highlighted the longstanding need for a reliable source of clean water in the community. Moved by their plight, Obi expressed gratitude for the opportunity to address this pressing need that had been unmet for over three decades. He framed his gesture as a reflection of his movement’s core values, emphasizing empathy, inclusivity, and a commitment to improving the lives of all Nigerians, irrespective of their creed or background.

Obi hopes that his outreach efforts during Ramadan will not only alleviate immediate challenges but also serve as a symbol of his unwavering dedication to the welfare and progress of every Nigerian. As he continues his nationwide tour, he emphasizes the importance of unity and compassion, particularly during this sacred month. Obi calls for collective action to build a nation where the basic needs of every community are met, fostering a spirit of generosity and understanding among all citizens.

Former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, has embarked on a new strategy to bolster his presidential aspirations for Nigeria.
