And wish to assure Nigerians and legal residents that there is no data breach of any sort and the Citizens\u2019 data is safe and secure in Nigeria\u2019s National identity database,&#8221; the statement read.<\/p>\n<p>The Director-General of NIMC, Abisoye Coker-Odusote, promptly ordered a comprehensive investigation into the matter to ascertain if any of the Commission\u2019s Tokenisation verification agents had breached the licensing agreement directly or through any of their sub-licenses.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;NIMC reaffirms its unwavering dedication to safeguarding, securing, and responsibly managing the data entrusted to us,&#8221; Coker-Odusote affirmed.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, repair works are underway on the undersea cable cuts that caused equipment faults on major undersea cables along the West African Coast. The incident led to internet service disruptions in the region, affecting mobile operators and internet service providers.<\/p>\n<p>The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) confirmed that operators of the damaged cables have commenced repairs, with internet services gradually being restored.
