Speaking at the Lagos Central Mosque 2024 Annual Ramadan Public Lecture, Sanwo-Olu emphasized the importance of patience and collective effort in navigating the nation’s current economic situation. Represented by his deputy, Obafemi Hamzat, the governor stressed that the withdrawal of long-standing subsidies would inevitably bring challenges, urging citizens to remain steadfast and focused during this transitional period.<\/p>\n
Addressing the theme “The Current Economic Situation: Solution from an Islamic Perspective,” the governor reiterated the need for unity and prayer to pave the way for a brighter future. Sanwo-Olu emphasized that sustained efforts, coupled with a spirit of prayerfulness, would lead to positive changes in the country. Meanwhile, the guest lecturer, Alfa Agba of Lagos, Sheikh Mujitaba Giwa, echoed the sentiment, advocating for a decentralized approach to the management of mineral resources.
