Jubril Aminu, the community leader, received a call from the kidnappers on Tuesday, conveying their ransom demand and issuing a 20-day ultimatum for payment. Failure to meet the demand, they warned, would result in the killing of all the hostages.<\/p>\n

Idris Ibrahim, an elected official from Kuriga Ward municipal council, confirmed the ransom demand and specified the amount. He also mentioned efforts to trace the kidnappers’ phone number.<\/p>\n

While security forces are reportedly taking measures to secure the release of the hostages, the Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs in Kaduna State, Samuel Aruwan, and spokespeople for President Bola Tinubu and the army have not yet commented on the situation.<\/p>\n

Minister of Information Mohammed Idris stated Tinubu’s position, emphasizing that security forces should secure the hostages’ release without acceding to ransom demands.<\/p>\n
