DSP Ejire Adeyemi Toun, the command’s spokesperson, revealed that the swift action of officers led to the arrest of the suspects, who were identified as John Ndubusi Nbakogu, Toheeb Suleiman, and Bolakale Quadir, alias Adaka.

According to Ejire, the incident occurred on March 2 at approximately 06:30 AM when a distress call reported an armed robbery, resulting in the forceful theft of a citizen’s property. During the robbery, the victim, whose identity remains undisclosed for security reasons, was deprived of his Infinix Note 11 handset valued at N150,000 while attending to his traps.

The spokesperson commended the prompt response of law enforcement officers, which led to the initial arrest of one suspect shortly after the incident. Subsequent investigations led to the identification and apprehension of the remaining two suspects. Additionally, a cut-to-size single-barrel gun, believed to have been used in the robbery, was recovered from one of the suspects.

Through meticulous investigation, it was confirmed that the arrested individuals were indeed responsible for the criminal act perpetrated against the complainant. The suspects are slated to appear in court to face prosecution for their actions. Ejire urged the public to continue cooperating with law enforcement agencies by providing timely and relevant information to aid in the prevention and detection of crime.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Victor Olaiya, reaffirmed the commitment of the Kwara State Police Command to ensuring the safety and security of citizens. He pledged to make Kwara State an inhospitable environment for criminal elements, vowing to relentlessly pursue justice while upholding law and order in communities across the state.

The Kwara State Police Command has successfully apprehended three suspected armed robbers following an incident in the Oko-Erin area of Ilorin.
