The Nigeria Customs Service has released 15 trucks loaded with grains that were intercepted last week at the Sokoto State border en route to neighboring countries.<\/p>\n
The trucks were intercepted along the Gwadabawa-Illela Road in Sokoto, according to Abdullahi Abubakar, spokesman for the Sokoto\/Zamfara Area Command, NCS. The release was made in compliance with a directive from President Bola Tinubu, as stated by Abubakar in a statement on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
During the handover of the trucks at the command\u2019s headquarters in Sokoto, Comptroller Kamal Mohammed urged the traders to ensure that the grains reach Nigerian markets. Mohammed emphasized the Nigeria Customs Service’s commitment under the leadership of Comptroller General Bashir Adewale Adeniyi to combat smuggling and make the border inhospitable to smugglers and unpatriotic merchants.<\/p>\n
