Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp has expressed his disappointment over the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) refusal to award the Reds a late minute penalty in Sunday\u2019s Premier League game against Man City.<\/p>\n
Recall that Doku caught Mac Allister high on his body deep into second-half stoppage time but referee Michael Oliver waved away claims of a penalty.<\/p>\n
VAR looked at the incident but decided that because Doku touched the ball before making contact with Mac Allister, they would not overturn Oliver\u2019s decision.<\/p>\n
However, Klopp disagrees and accused VAR of hiding behind the \u2018clear and obvious phrase\u2019.<\/p>\n
\u201cHits him on the chest,\u201d Klopp told reporters at his post-match interview.<\/p>\n
\u201cDoes he touch the ball before? Yes. Does that make any difference, on any position on the pitch, if your leg is that high?<\/p>\n
\u201cYou can kick the ball before, and after that the foot is here Klopp points to his chest and you go off.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWhy would the guy in the VAR studio think \u2018Ah that is not clear and obvious\u2019? What must you have had for lunch if you think that is not clear and obvious?\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI have to speak so often about it, and I really don\u2019t care, I\u2019m already over it, it\u2019s absolutely fine. We\u2019d love to get it, yeah, but nothing that I say at least I learned that\u00a0 will change that.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo would have loved to have used one of the massive chances we created. (But) for us, the most important information is we are right there.<\/p>\n
