Tochi Wigwe, the daughter of the late Chief Executive Officer of Access Bank Plc, Dr. Herbert Wigwe, delivered a poignant tribute to her father during a Night of Tributes held at Eko Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.<\/p>\n
Joined by close friends and relatives, Tochi expressed her admiration and love for her father, who tragically lost his life along with his wife and son in a helicopter accident in the United States a few weeks prior. The funeral rites commenced on Monday, March 4, 2024.<\/p>\n
In a moving speech, Tochi reminisced about her father’s unwavering support and encouragement. Despite her initial reluctance towards public speaking, she drew strength from her father’s words, acknowledging his extraordinary influence on her life.<\/p>\n
“To my father, whose words resonate deeply within me tonight, you were simply extraordinary,” Tochi remarked, recounting her father’s determination and ability to surpass expectations. She recalled how he constantly pushed her to strive for greatness, instilling in her the belief that she could achieve anything.<\/p>\n
Reflecting on her father’s boundless love, Tochi shared anecdotes of his selflessness, including his willingness to travel great distances just to spend a few precious moments with her. She described him as a feminist and a staunch advocate for equality, noting his ability to empower others and nurture meaningful relationships.<\/p>\n
As she grappled with the enormity of his absence, Tochi expressed gratitude for the enduring support system her father had provided. She pledged to honor his legacy and carry forward his values, acknowledging the immense responsibility that lay ahead.<\/p>\n
The funeral proceedings, which commenced on Thursday, March 7, 2024, with a Combined Service of Songs at RCCG, Resurrection Parish, will continue with a Christian Wake-Keeping at Wigwe University, Isiokpo, Rivers State, on Friday, March 8. The final ceremonies, including the Combined Funeral Service, private interment, and Outing Service, will be held on Saturday, March 9, and Sunday, March 10, 2024, respectively, at RCCG, Lion of Judah Parish, Isiokpo.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
