The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) in Kaduna State has taken a significant step towards addressing unemployment by launching a skill acquisition training program for 43 unemployed youths under its Youth Transformation Training Scheme.<\/p>\n
Alhaji Ahmed Kawuri, the State Coordinator, disclosed that the training program would cover a range of skills, including photography, fashion design, carpentry, and hairdressing, spanning a duration of six months or more. This initiative aims to equip the participants with practical skills that will enhance their employability and entrepreneurial potential.<\/p>\n
Kawuri, represented by Hajiya Halima Waziri, the State Accountant, highlighted that this training marked the second phase of the program, with participants selected from the initial group of 50 who engaged in the first phase. He urged all participants to approach the training with dedication, emphasizing that it offered them the chance to become self-reliant and potential employers in the future.<\/p>\n
Similarly, the Director of Vocational Skills Development (VSD), Alhaji Isah Abdu, extended his congratulations to the participants, acknowledging that this opportunity was highly sought after by many. The program’s primary objective is to combat youth unemployment by empowering them with practical skills and fostering economic self-sufficiency.<\/p>\n
Represented by Hajiya Bilkisu Junaidu from the NDE headquarters in Abuja, Alhaji Isah Abdu urged the participants to seize this opportunity by actively engaging in the training, adhering to the instructors’ guidance, and maintaining regular attendance.<\/p>\n
He reminded the participants that they were receiving this training at no cost, with stipends provided to cover transportation expenses. As such, he stressed the importance of taking the program seriously and maximizing the benefits it offered.<\/p>\n
In response, the participants expressed their gratitude to the NDE for this valuable opportunity. They pledged their commitment to giving their best throughout the training and beyond. One of the participants, Isiyaku Tanimu, shared his enthusiasm for the carpentry skills he had already acquired and his determination to perfect them so that he could eventually impart knowledge to others.<\/p>\n
