Joseph Aloba, father of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as Mohbad, has urged the Nigeria Police to summon his son’s widow, Omowunmi, to provide insights into the circumstances surrounding his death. This request was conveyed through a statement signed by the family and sent to media outlets.<\/p>\n
Aloba had previously filed a suit seeking to call additional witnesses to unravel the cause of his son’s death, including individuals who were with Mohbad at the time, such as Ayobami Fisayo, Boluwatife Adeyemo, and Ibrahim Owodunni.<\/p>\n
In a statement released on Wednesday, the Aloba family emphasized the importance of Omowunmi’s testimony in shedding light on the tragic event. They urged the relevant authorities to extend an invitation to her and highlighted the sensitive nature of the matter, requesting police security to ensure her safety.<\/p>\n
The statement emphasized the need for a swift investigation, stating, “We implore you (the police) to prioritize this investigation and take swift action to uncover the truth behind Mohbad\u2019s death. The Aloba family and the public deserve closure, and justice must prevail.”<\/p>\n
Additionally, it was disclosed that Joseph Aloba had filed a suit seeking a Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) test for his grandson, Liam, at the Magistrates\u2019 Court in Ikorodu, Lagos State. The move aims to resolve paternity issues surrounding the child for future purposes.<\/p>\n
Mohbad, a former signee of Marlian Music, died on September 12, 2023, at the age of 27, leading to controversies on social media. The Lagos State Police Command initiated an investigation, and the autopsy results are still awaited. The police declared Primeboy wanted during the probe, and he later turned himself in.
