The Nasarawa State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of Ogeh Bethel Chibuife, a fraudulent National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, at the Magaji Dan Yumusa Orientation Camp in Keffi.<\/p>\n
In a statement released on Thursday by DSP Ramhan Nansel, the Police Public Relations Officer of the state, it was revealed that the arrest came following a complaint lodged at the Keffi Divisional Headquarters by a staff member of the NYSC.<\/p>\n
The statement elucidated that the suspect’s true identity was unearthed during a headcount conducted on all Corps members partaking in a week-long orientation exercise at the camp.<\/p>\n
DSP Nansel emphasized that the imposter, identified as a student of Ebonyi State University’s Faculty of Management Science, Department of Public Administration, gained illicit access to the camp premises.<\/p>\n
The statement detailed, “She confessed that she was supposed to have graduated in 2022 but had a lot of spillover courses, and in a bid to cover up the lies she\u2019d made to her parents, she went to the market and purchased NYSC uniforms\/other items meant for Corps members and sneaked into the Camp to take pictures and send to her parents before nemesis caught up with her.”<\/p>\n
Expressing concern over the incident, CP Umar Shehu Nadada psc, mni, the Commissioner of Police, Nasarawa State Command, urged individuals contemplating similar deceitful acts to reconsider, warning that the law would inevitably catch up with them.
