Former presidential adviser, Chief Okoi Obono-Obla, has urged the ruling party to prioritize the promotion of manufacturing and patronage of made-in-Nigeria goods as a solution to prevalent hyperinflation and hardship in the country.<\/p>\n

In an exclusive interview on Monday morning, Obono-Obla emphasized the need for deliberate efforts to boost local production and exportation of Nigerian goods to earn foreign exchange, reducing dependence on volatile international oil markets.<\/p>\n

The All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain criticized the dominance of the dollar over the national currency, stressing the importance of strengthening the naira through collaborative efforts between the government and the people.<\/p>\n

He highlighted the dangers of relying solely on crude oil exports for foreign exchange earnings, advocating for diversification of the economy and increased support for local industries.<\/p>\n

Addressing the issue of insecurity, Obono-Obla attributed the root cause to corruption and the institutionalization of lawlessness, pointing out that disobedience to laws by the well-placed and wealthy exacerbates insecurity in the country.<\/p>\n

He emphasized the need for accountability and adherence to due process, stating that the culture of impunity among the governing elite has fostered a perception of impunity among the populace.<\/p>\n
