This operation led to the arrest of two suspects believed to be involved in the illicit drug trade.<\/p>\n<p>Moving to Edo, on February 14, operatives acted on intelligence and intercepted a consignment of methamphetamine. The consignment, originating from Onitsha in Anambra and destined for Lagos, was concealed within a Toyota Sienna bus bearing the plate number Anambra NZM 347 ZL. The methamphetamine, weighing 0.966kg, was cleverly hidden inside a cassava-made local food item known as African salad or \u201cAbacha\u201d. The driver, a 42-year-old man, was apprehended in connection with the seizure.<\/p>\n<p>Simultaneously, on the same day, another team of NDLEA officers intercepted a Peugeot 406 space wagon car driven by a 47-year-old man on the Uromi road in Esan Northeast LGA, Edo State. A search on the vehicle led to the discovery of 865 bottles of codeine, 2,600 pills of tramadol, and 600 tablets of swinol and rohypnol.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, in the FCT, NDLEA operatives conducted raid operations in the Kubwa area and apprehended a 47-year-old and an 18-year-old. These suspects were found in possession of 10.5kg of cannabis (Indian hemp), 13.5g of diazepam, and 2.9g of tramadol tablets.<\/p>\n<p>These successful operations signify NDLEA&#8217;s commitment to combating the scourge of drug trafficking and abuse across the country.
