A 36-year-old man, named only as Jamilu, was hit by a car while attempting to flee with a woman’s food at the Kwali market in Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).<\/p>\n
Eyewitnesses recounted that the incident unfolded around 11 am when the suspect, Jamilu, purportedly offered to assist a woman, Mrs. Patience Raphael, in carrying her purchased food items from the market to the roadside.<\/p>\n
Mrs. Raphael had just completed her shopping, which included rice, beans, garri, yam, and other essentials, all packed neatly in a sack. As she sought out a truck pusher to transport the sack, the suspect seized the opportunity to pose as a helpful passerby.<\/p>\n
Ibrahim Audu, a witness to the event, recounted the unfolding scene. “In fact, I was even the one that was trying to call a wheelbarrow pusher to come and carry the foodstuffs for the woman when the man came to help carry the load,” Audu recalled. “As he was rushing to cross the road in order to escape with the load, he was knocked down.”<\/p>\n
