The commendable rescue mission was confirmed in a press statement released by Captain Yahaya Ibrahim, the spokesperson for the operation, in Gusau, the state capital.<br \/>\nThe daring rescue efforts unfolded on 9th September when troops deployed at the Forward Operating Base (FOB) in Anka Local Government Area engaged in a fierce gun duel with armed bandits along the Anka-Baggega road. Their valiant efforts resulted in the liberation of victims who had been kidnapped from a Canter truck while on their way to the Baggega market in Anka.<br \/>\nCaptain Yahaya Ibrahim&#8217;s statement revealed that the heroes of the Joint Task Force weren&#8217;t done yet. In another daring rescue operation, troops stationed at FOB Hannutara came to the aid of two victims who had been kidnapped from their farmlands. Their captors abandoned them upon spotting the approaching troops during a routine and confidence-building patrol.<br \/>\nThe rescue mission extended beyond Anka as well. Acting on a distress call from locals regarding armed bandits&#8217; kidnapping activities in Danfanmi village in Kaura Namoda Local Government Area, troops of Operation Hadarin Daji in Birnin Magaji swiftly mobilized to the area. Their timely intervention led to the rescue of three additional victims, who had been held captive.<br \/>\nOn the previous day, 8th September 2023, troops from FOB Baggega in Zamfara State, while on a combat patrol, intercepted and successfully rescued six more kidnapped victims. These individuals had managed to escape from their captors in the dense Gando forest, where they had spent a harrowing ten weeks in captivity. Preliminary investigations revealed that the victims hailed from Mahuta community in Kebbi State.<br \/>\nNotably, troops deployed in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State also played a vital role in the rescue efforts. They saved two females who had been kidnapped when bandits invaded their community late at night. The rescued women were promptly taken to General Hospital Tsafe for medical attention, ensuring their well-being.<br \/>\nThe rescued victims have since been handed over to the appropriate authorities, with plans in motion to reunite them with their families, offering a glimmer of hope and relief to the distraught loved ones.<br \/>\nMajor General Godwin Mutkut, the Commander of Joint Task Force Northwest Operation Hadarin Daji and General Officer Commanding (GOC) 8 Division Nigerian Army, expressed his deep appreciation for the troops&#8217; unwavering dedication and prompt response to distress calls.
