Taoreed Lagbaja, during the commencement of the Combined Second and Third Quarters COAS Conference held in Abuja on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>The conference is attended by army field commanders, heads of institutions, and other relevant figures.<\/p>\n<p>Lagbaja stressed the utmost importance of the welfare of troops and their families, emphasizing the commitment to strengthen existing welfare programs to enhance the well-being of soldiers and their families, ultimately keeping them focused on their duties.<\/p>\n<p>He stated, &#8220;Apart from ensuring suitable accommodation for our personnel, we are committed to implementing the newly introduced &#8216;Affordable Home Ownership Option for All Soldiers Scheme,&#8217; which aims to provide affordable and high-quality post-service homes for our soldiers. We will also maintain our dedication to providing top-tier medical care for our injured warriors and continue supporting the widows and next-of-kin of our fallen heroes.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Lagbaja expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for promptly directing the settlement of outstanding insurance payments owed to the families. He acknowledged Tinubu&#8217;s strategic guidance to the Armed Forces.<\/p>\n<p>He also reiterated the Nigerian Army&#8217;s loyalty to the defense of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and encouraged army personnel to collaborate with other security agencies to effectively address the country&#8217;s security challenges.<\/p>\n<p>The COAS shared his Command Philosophy, which focuses on transforming the Nigerian Army into a well-trained, equipped, and highly motivated force to fulfill constitutional responsibilities in a joint operational environment.<\/p>\n<p>The Chief of Policy and Plans, Maj.-Gen. Abdulsalam Ibrahim, explained that the conference serves as a platform for officers to discuss the state of affairs of the Nigerian Army and develop plans for future engagements.
