President Bola Tinubu has instructed the immediate settlement of insurance claims owed to the families of fallen soldiers who lost their lives in defense of the nation.<\/p>\n

This directive was conveyed by the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, during the commencement of the Combined Second and Third Quarters COAS Conference held in Abuja on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

The conference is attended by army field commanders, heads of institutions, and other relevant figures.<\/p>\n

Lagbaja stressed the utmost importance of the welfare of troops and their families, emphasizing the commitment to strengthen existing welfare programs to enhance the well-being of soldiers and their families, ultimately keeping them focused on their duties.<\/p>\n

He stated, “Apart from ensuring suitable accommodation for our personnel, we are committed to implementing the newly introduced ‘Affordable Home Ownership Option for All Soldiers Scheme,’ which aims to provide affordable and high-quality post-service homes for our soldiers. We will also maintain our dedication to providing top-tier medical care for our injured warriors and continue supporting the widows and next-of-kin of our fallen heroes.”<\/p>\n

Lagbaja expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for promptly directing the settlement of outstanding insurance payments owed to the families. He acknowledged Tinubu’s strategic guidance to the Armed Forces.<\/p>\n

He also reiterated the Nigerian Army’s loyalty to the defense of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and encouraged army personnel to collaborate with other security agencies to effectively address the country’s security challenges.<\/p>\n

The COAS shared his Command Philosophy, which focuses on transforming the Nigerian Army into a well-trained, equipped, and highly motivated force to fulfill constitutional responsibilities in a joint operational environment.<\/p>\n

The Chief of Policy and Plans, Maj.-Gen. Abdulsalam Ibrahim, explained that the conference serves as a platform for officers to discuss the state of affairs of the Nigerian Army and develop plans for future engagements. It is also an opportunity for the COAS to convey his command philosophy to field commanders and institution heads.<\/p>\n

Ibrahim noted the success of both kinetic and non-kinetic army operations and emphasized the need to maintain momentum in addressing security challenges.<\/p>\n

During the event, Lagbaja presented new Toyota Hilux vehicles to eight Regimental Sergeant Majors (RSMs) from various army units and formations.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
