{"id":1869,"date":"2023-09-12T14:05:58","date_gmt":"2023-09-12T14:05:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/?p=1869"},"modified":"2023-09-12T14:05:58","modified_gmt":"2023-09-12T14:05:58","slug":"alleged-kidney-harvesting-case-nma-distances-itself-from-impostor-doctor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abujacityjournal.com\/livenews\/2023\/09\/12\/alleged-kidney-harvesting-case-nma-distances-itself-from-impostor-doctor\/","title":{"rendered":"Alleged Kidney Harvesting Case: NMA Distances Itself from Impostor Doctor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong>Adeyemi Abdulkareem<\/strong>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) in Plateau State has disassociated itself from Dr. Noah Kekere, who was recently arrested for allegedly removing a woman&#8217;s kidney at his hospital in Jos.<\/p>\n<p>Kekere&#8217;s arrest came after a businessman, Alhaji Kamal, accused him of performing this procedure on his wife in 2018, causing her prolonged pain.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, Kekere is receiving psychiatric care at Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) due to displayed symptoms of mental illness last Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>However, Dr. Bapiga&#8217;an Audu, Chairman of the Plateau State Chapter of the NMA, and Dr. Istifanus Bako, the Public Relations Officer, jointly clarified in a statement issued in Jos that, following their investigation, it was found that Kekere is not a qualified medical doctor.<\/p>\n<p>The statement explained, &#8220;We wish to inform the public and concerned parties that Mr. Noah Kekere, currently under investigation for alleged organ harvesting, is not a licensed medical doctor. Thorough investigations by the association have established him as an impostor posing as a doctor.
